FRAIZER: BRILLIANT FROM FRONT TO BACK

Club News

Match winner and debutant Fraizer Campbell was in buoyant spirits when speaking to press following Saturday's 1-0 victory over Leeds.

"It was a great debut for me, and hopefully we can continue this run," said the England international. "Leeds is not an easy place to come, and we knew that they’d be up for it.

"They’ve just come off the back of a great win against Tottenham so we knew it would be a tough task for us. We’ve not played a game for two weeks, but we dug in deep and got the result in the end. As the manager said, 'just stick at it and you’ll get what you deserve'. I thought we were brilliant from the front to the back."

"Evidently enthused by his fresh start at Cardiff City, the Huddersfield born striker added:I was up at seven o’clock this morning because I was so excited – it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to think that I’m going to be involved in a game, and like I said, I couldn’t have wished for a better start.

"Craig Bellamy lined up a shot and I just managed to get a touch on it and get it in. I’ve upset a couple of family members – half of them are Leeds fans, half are Manchester United fans – so half will be happy and the rest will be upset! When you go to a new club you want to start well, and I couldn’t have asked for much more, other than another goal!

"Now I just need to get as fit as the rest of the lads. It’ll take a few games to do that, but hopefully they can get me through it. We’re taking things a game at a time; we'll keep doing our job as quietly as we can and hopefully continue to do good things."
