BIGGEST WIN OF SEASON FOR U18s

Club News

Cardiff City’s U18 side stormed to first away win on January 12th, a 5-1 win against Barnet.

It took as little as two minutes for City to get on the score-sheet after the Christmas break with Gethyn Hill defending from the front. The forward disposed a Barnet defender before feeding the ball to strike partner Dane Griffiths who side footed the away side into the lead. Hill was rewarded for his fine teamwork with a goal of his own just after the fifteen minute mark heading home a Tommy O’Sullivan cross to increase City’s lead.

During the second period O’Sullivan turned provider again playing the ball through for Griffiths to run through and fire home his second goal of the afternoon and season. After Griffiths’ fine left footed strike came back off the post, denying the striker his hat-trick, it was O’Sullivan who was on hand to lash home the rebound capping off a fine performance for the midfielder.

Although Barnet managed to grab a consolation goal, City’s Academy had the final say with David Stone converting a penalty that he had earned. It was a fantastic performance for City who finally had their rewards away from home.
