NOONEY: YOU WON'T BETTER CITY FANS

Club News

City midfielder Craig Noone spoke exclusively to cardiffcityfc.co.uk on Thursday, following the news that our allocation at third place Watford for next month's fixture has officially sold out.

And the scouse-born winger was full of praise for the City faithful, saying: "We love going to away grounds and seeing a big Cardiff City following behind the goal, it really means a lot to us.

"Our supporters are fantastic, and those who came away with us to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend summed them up. They were brilliant. We've got a tough trip to Peterborough a week on Saturday and then we're looking forward to bringing it back home again then against Blackburn on Easter Monday."

In the midst of the season's final international break, those not representing their countries have been continuing the hard work back at base camp.

And while the lack of Championship football may seem to some like difficult to bear in the chase for promotion, Nooney spoke of what an important fortnight this could prove to be.

"It feels like we’re at the start of a long two weeks off at the moment, but those Easter games at Peterborough and at home to Blackburn will come around quite quickly," he said.

"From that point onwards we’re looking at Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday in April until the end of the season so we need to use this time to make sure we’re fully fit and as sharp as we need to be for the run-in.

"The bookies have us as odds-on to go up, but we don’t think about it in those terms at all and are now starting to prepare for Peterborough. Each game will go by and we have to be ready to take maximum points whenever we can. We really don’t look at anything more than who our next opponents are and what we have to do to beat them."

And as for his first season in the Welsh capital - one that has seen him amass 6 goals and 8 assists in 28 appearances to date - the former Brighton man reflected on what's proving to be a grand spell, saying: "I’m delighted with the season I’ve had and it’s nice to be up there on the stats tables.

"I set myself targets at the start of the season, but you won’t be surprised that I’m not going to tell you what those are! I want more goals and assists now and that’s what I’m going to be doing over the coming weeks."
