DVP take on Brighton tonight

CITY’s Development Squad's take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Tuesday, 29th October, kick-off 7pm.

Entering into the inaugural competition in the second round of qualifying, Kevin Cooper's men will face the Seagulls, with a first-round tie at stake against Chelsea for the winners. City's Cup fixture against the Seagulls will take place at Sussex County FA Headquarters, kick-off 7pm.

The Under-21 Premier League Cup has been introduced this season and could see the likes of Manchester United or Arsenal take on Kevin Cooper’s Development side.

Fifty-two academies have entered the U21 Premier League Cup with the draw for Qualifying Round 1 and Qualifying Round 2 having taken place this morning.

All games will be played at the home sides’ stadium with the Bluebirds entering in Qualifying Round 2 as a Category 2 status Academy.

The one-off fixtures in the competition will be played on a regional basis until the Round of 16, whereupon the draw becomes national. The final will be played over two legs home and away at the main stadia of both teams.

Regional qualifiers will be held to progress to the round of 32, at which stage Category 1 academies will enter the competition.

City’s Development side have been in fine form this season, winning five of their six matches in the PDL South 2 league, including a derby victory over Swansea City in September

Their latest victory came over Millwall at Cardiff City Stadium on last Monday, a Rhys Healey strike earning 'City a deserved 1-0 victory.
