Five facts about Cardiff City's latest recruit

Cardiff City today confirmed their second signing of the summer in Austrian International midfielder Guido Burgstaller, who signed from Austrian club Rapid Wien on a three-year-deal. 

Here, we bring you a list of five top facts for you to get to know City’s new midfielder.

FIVE FACTS

1 - Guido Burgstaller loves a goal, in fact he scored 12 goals in 35 appearances for Rapid Wien last season, including a hat-trick in his final game for the club in a 5-2 win over Ried. 

2 - His nickname in Austria was ‘Burgi’ with his powerhouse play from the Rapid Wien engine room adored by fans in the Austrian capital. 

3 - Guido is a towering midfielder with a height of 6ft 2in.

4 - Burgstaller made his debut for Austria back in 2012 in a World Cup qualifying match with Germany. He has so far collected three caps in total for his country but could add to that in the next few weeks as he joins the squad for upcoming friendlies against Iceland and Czech Republic.

5 - Guido will become the first Austrian International to play for the Bluebirds once he makes a 2014-15 league appearance.
