CONNOLLY SIGNS TWO YEAR CITY EXTENSION

Versatile defender commits to the Bluebirds until 2017

Cardiff City Football Club is pleased to announce that Matt Connolly has signed a two-year contract extension with the Bluebirds.

Having joined from Queen’s Park Rangers in August, 2012, Matt was a key part of our 2012/13 Championship promotion campaign. Injury curtailed his season last year, though having returned to full fitness in the summer he has been one of the Bluebirds’ standout players in 2014/15, thus far.

The defender, who has made 49 first-team appearances and contributed five goals to date, spoke exclusively to cardiffcityfc.co.uk, saying: “I’m delighted to have committed myself to Cardiff City, for another two seasons beyond this one at least.

“There’s been a great camaraderie in the squad since I first came here in 2012 and the ambition to be successful is as strong as it’s always been.”
