Managers praise players after confidence-lifting display

The Bluebirds’ second-half performance at the iPro Stadium was a joy to behold – full of spirit, conviction and tangible passion for the City shirt.

And the Managerial tandem spoke highly of their troops’ efforts after a game that many of the 1,300 travelling contingent would have felt they’d done enough in to win.

.Scott“From our point of view, having only had 24 hours to work with the team, we can take positives. The lads have taken on board our messages against a tough team with excellent movement and rotation,” said

“Derby are an excellent side in this division, but it’s places like this that you want to go and test yourself at. We showed what we were all about on the field today and the passion was there.

“We will see where it goes from here now. Our directive from Tan Sri Vincent Tan and the Chairman, Mehmet Dalman, was to take charge of team today. To begin with, today was an honour for us both. Cardiff City is my Football Club, my life, for the past twenty or so years.

“We don't know about Tuesday yet [at home to Bournemouth], but we have put the wheels in motion to prepare the team for the game. The clock is ticking for that one in terms of preparation and team planning. As I say, we will have conversations and see where they take us.”

added: “We have to be delighted with the result at a place like this. It was disappointing to be 2-0 up and concede so late on, but if you look at the game overall, the draw was a fair result.Danny

“We were too deep at times in the first-half, but we changed one or two things and in the end we're disappointed not to have held onto the win.

“But you cannot fault the work-rate and the effort and seeing the lads trying to put in place what we have talked since coming in.

“It's the end of a very different week than I would have expected but it's been very insightful. It's felt like a month and we've not slept much, but we've enjoyed it. As Scott says, we'll need to talk tonight to Tan Sri and Mehmet and see where we go from here.

"We wanted the boys to work hard and put in a performance for the fans and they did that today. We can't fault their effort or work-rate and on the back of the second half, I think we did enough to win it.”
