An outstanding performance from Kevin Nicholson's U21 squad, as they score five without reply at Portman Road

Cardiff City's U21 development side put in an impressive showing at Portman Road on Monday night, defeating Ipswich Town, 5-0.

The Bluebirds went in at the break ahead after Macauley Southam's goal late in the first-half. The young midfielder doubled his, and the Bluebirds tally immediately after the restart, with a fine finish.

Kevin Nicholson's dominant side weren't finished there, with Southam this time turning provider, assisting Tommy O'Sullivan in his second goal of the U21 campaign.

City didn't rest on their lead though, continuing to impress those in attendance, and stunned the hosts with a fourth goal. Rhys Healey heading home with a little over ten minutes remaining. The forward added to his total as the clock struck 90 minutes. After being brought down in the penalty area, the Manchester-born striker fired home his penalty to finish off the scoring. It was a superb team performance from the Bluebirds U21 side on their travels, securing a second win of the season.
