RUSSELL: LET'S MAINTAIN OUR GOAL THREAT

Club News

Russell Slade spoke to the press and media this morning, looking ahead to City’s weekend clash with Sheffield Wednesday.

Having scored three goals away from home to secure victory over Bolton last Saturday, Russell underlined the need to continue that attacking form, whilst remaining solid at the back.

“We’ve created chances and scored goals recently," began Russell. "We did that last Saturday, and the Saturday before against Burnley. Unfortunately, we’ve leaked a couple of goals, which is unlike us. We’ve had five clean sheets in the nine games, and that’s something that we’re proud of and want to keep going.

“If we can be that little bit tighter and meaner again on Saturday, but at the same time still be the threat that we have been in the last couple of games, then hopefully we can go on and earn the three points.

“Sheffield Wednesday are pushing for a play-off spot this season, make no mistake about that. They are a threat, we’ll respect that, but by the same token we’ll go out and try to imprint our game-plan on them to get a positive result."
