Defender leaves Lions for Bluebirds

Cardiff City Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of Scott Malone, subject to international clearance. The defender links up with the Bluebirds from Millwall for an undisclosed fee.

Twenty-three year old Scott, a former England U19 international, has committed himself to the Club until June 2017.

Having begun his career with Wolves prior to a short time at Bournemouth, Scott spent three years at Millwall between 2012 and 2015. Predominantly as left back, he scored five times in seventy-one League and Cup appearances whilst at the Den.

Speaking exclusively to Cardiff City Player, West Midlands-born Scott spoke of his anticipation of a new challenge in South Wales, saying: “With my contract soon to expire at Millwall, I was looking for a new challenge; a few clubs were interested, but when I heard Cardiff City was one of them it was an easy decision to make.

“The Manager didn’t need to persuade me at all into making this decision, I wanted to come and be part of his plans. I’m very happy to be here and eager to get started."
