Hero Moore praises fighting spirit following nine man victory

Speaking to the press and media directly following his added time heroics, Cardiff City goalkeeper Simon Moore gave his thoughts on a hard fought win over former side, Brentford.

"It was a massive win for us today," said Simon. "The last ten minutes were just a blur, it was relentless.

"We feel it's starting to come together now, we've got a great team spirit and will be looking to continue this. These things do need time. We're starting to play better football now, and I think that team spirit is a real part of that. You could see that today, down to nine-men during an onslaught and fighting through.

"Credit must go to the lads for sticking together and seeing it out."

The 24-year-old shot stopper spent four years with the Bees between 2009-2013, and had a number of kind words to say about his former teammates: "Brentford have a fantastic group of lads, and I think their spirit sees them through.

"Some of the stuff they were playing at times today was arguably the best I've seen all year. I still speak to a lot of the lads here and wish them all the very best for the rest of the season."

And to end, Simon expressed his thoughts on the Bluebirds' final eight games of the season - and how important a confident end to the campaign could be in preparation for the 2015/16 season.

"We just have to win as many games as possible," Simon continued. "During my loan spell away with Bristol City last term we won a lot of our final ten games, and you look at where they are now at the top of League One.

"It's important to end strongly and get the momentum rolling for the next campaign. We'll be looking to get as many points on the board as possible between now and the end of the season."
