U21: CITY SEE OFF KEWELL'S HORNETS

Cardiff City's U21/DVP side returned to winning ways at Leckwith Stadium on Monday afternoon, defeating former Liverpool & Leeds man Harry Kewell's Watford, 2-1.

Kevin Nicholson's side took the lead eleven minutes into the match, Semi Ajayi rising highest to nod the ball home.

The Bluebirds welcomed Kiko Macheda and Bruno Ecuele Manga as the experienced duo push towards their first team returns following injury, with former Manchester United forward Macheda doubling the lead on twenty-seven minutes, composedly slotting home.

Alex Jakubiak reduced the deficit for Watford before the half-time whistle, but the Hornets were unable to turn the result around - Nicholson's Bluebirds running out 2-1 victors.
