U21: COLCHESTER UNITED 0-2 CARDIFF CITY

Club News

Cardiff City's U21 development side defeated Colchester United, 2-0, at Florence Park Training Ground on Monday afternoon.

Kevin Nicholson's side entered this match following two recent impressive victories over Birmingham City and Bristol City, and deservedly took the lead going in at the break - forward Eli Phipps netting the opening goal after 44 minutes.

The young Bluebirds secured the away win with a little under ten minutes remaining, Phipps scoring his second goal of the match, and third strike in his last two games.

City's U21 squad next face Charlton Athletic at home next Monday (26th October), 2pm kick-off at Cardiff International Sports Stadium. Supporters are welcome to come and watch the future City stars, free of charge, with the first team taking on Severnside rivals Bristol City at Cardiff City Stadium later in the day.
