Peter Whittingham joined his manager for pre-match press conference duties this morning, setting his sights on a Severnside Derby victory next week.
City’s no. 7 played a starring role in the Bluebirds’ win over Middlesbrough on Tuesday, and called for the side to show similar battling spirit on Monday.
“It was a tight game against Middlesbrough," said Whitts. "We always knew it was going to be. It was a case of coming together, shutting up shop and then getting that bit of luck at the end.
“Now, it’s going to be a huge game on Monday. Bristol City are a big team, they’ve not been doing so well at the moment, but it’s a derby match, so form goes out the window.
“We are playing well at the minute and need to keep going. We’re at home, so it’s up to us to instigate everything, control the game and to get the three points.”
