O’KEEFE l A GOOD FEELING

Club News

Stuart O’Keefe joined Russell Slade for pre-match press conference duties this morning, discussing the Bluebirds’ chase for a top six finish, as well as his personal ambitions in the City engine room.

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s clash with Reading, the battling midfielder explained that the camaraderie within the squad should stand City in good stead for their matches to come.

“There’s a good atmosphere amongst us at the minute,” began Stuart. “We’ve had a good run of results coming towards the business part of the season and there’s a good feeling in the camp.

“Hopefully we can have a push now. Now is the time that you really need to kick on, and I think other teams are starting to take note as well.

“Ipswich made it tricky for us, but psychologically it was a big win for us, and I think the fans liked it as well. It sent out a bit of a message that we can’t be rolled over now – it’s been a good statement from us recently.

“We’ve got a lot of competition in the midfield here. I’ve had to bide my time personally, but I’ve got my chance now, playing most of the games in 2016. It’s onward and upwards now and I’m relishing my chance to make the most of it every time I play.

“We just want to finish as strong as possible now. If we can get a good result tomorrow, it will put us in a perfect position.”
