RUSSELL | WE MUST PERFORM TO OUR BEST AT READING

Ahead of Cardiff City’s trip to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading on Saturday afternoon, Russell Slade held a pre-match press conference looking forward to the match.

Following City’s 1-0 victory over fellow Play-Off contenders Ipswich Town last weekend, Russell called for another positive performance against the Royals.

“We’re all looking for consistency,” said Russell. “Brian [McDermott] will be no different in that department.

“Of course, they are at home so they’ll be looking for a positive result. We expect a reaction from their defeat on Tuesday, but we have to be ready for that and perform to the levels that we have been at in recent weeks.

“Our form was epitomised by the Brighton game at home which was an all-round terrific performance. We’re also learning how to win a football match when it’s tight, like against Ipswich. Even though it wasn’t a classic, I think that was a big game for the players and gave me a lot of encouragement.”
