Club beats off Premier League competition at Football Business Awards...

Cardiff City Football Club has been recognised as offering the ‘Best Match Day Experience’ at the 2016 Football Business Awards.

At the prestigious ceremony held at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium, the Bluebirds saw off a host of Premier League competition including Everton and Premier League Champions, Leicester City.

The Football Business Awards recognise and reward the hard work that takes place to support the success of the game. This is the national event at which all the achievements off the pitch are celebrated at the end of each year.

With an illustrious judging panel selected for their particular experience and expertise the Football Business Awards has grown into a significant annual football calendar event. The awards are becoming more and more difficult to win every year, and an increasingly valuable marketing badge for those who manage to do so.

WHY CARDIFF CITY HAS BEEN RECOGNISED

Cardiff City FC was selected as the winner due to the Club’s continued commitment to the betterment of the match day experience, of which fan engagement and an improvement in supporter relations and dialogue plays a critical part.

The judging panel considered a number of factors, including the nominated clubs’ excellence in customer service and efforts to enhance fan enjoyment for both home and away supporters. The quality and efficiency of services for fans, before and after kick-off, were all taken into account, along with the Bluebirds’ new supporter-driven initiatives.

Fan Engagement Manager, Amy McNiven, was on hand to pick up the award at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening. Since her appointment to the role in February 2016, Amy has driven forward an extensive fan engagement strategy, helping to further develop the bond between the Club, community and supporters here in the Welsh capital.

At the heart of the Club’s strategy is a commitment to making match-day at Cardiff City Stadium as enjoyable as possible, for all supporters, in every stand. Cardiff City FC Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo said: “I want to thank the club's staff for delivering the best match day service experience to our fans.

“There is nothing more satisfying to us than seeing our fans having a great time at the home of the Bluebirds. The process of improving the match day experience will not stop here either and the momentum will continue.”
