Five members of Cardiff City's U18/development squad have been selected in the Wales U19 squad for their upcoming friendlies with Iceland.

Goalkeeper Scott Coughlan, defenders Cameron Coxe & Rhys Abbruzzese, central midfielder Jarrad Welch and forward Ibraim So Sani have been included in the squad that will face their Icelandic equivalents on Sunday, 4 September (KO 3.00pm) and Tuesday, 6 September (KO 3.00pm) at Newport's Dragon Park facility.

U18 attacker Mark Harris was also set to meet up with Wales for these two friendlies, but misses out on this occasion through injury.

We'd like to wish our young Bluebirds and the Wales U19 squad all the very best of luck during these upcoming international matches.

Cardiff City's U18 side take on Ipswich Town at USW Sports Park this Saturday morning - 11:00am kick-off. With a number of players away on international duty, and four apprentices currently suffering from injuries, a selection of U16 players will make the step up against the Tractor Boys.

U18 head coach Jarred Harvey believes this opportunity to play at a higher level will heavily benefit the young Bluebirds, saying: "This is a great chance for members of our talented U16 squad to play against what will be a strong Ipswich Town team. It will undoubtedly be a tough and challenging match, but we are excited to see what these young talents can bring to the U18 setup."
