The pre-season campaigns of Cardiff City's U23 and U18 sides are already in full swing...

Don't forget, you can keep up to date with the young Bluebirds' progress with exclusive highlights on iFollow Cardiff City.

Cardiff City U23s

Cardiff City's U23 have returned from Devon and Cornwall, where they followed Neil Warnock's first team to play two games in a whistle-stop pre-season trip.

While the fixtures gave manager Jarred Harvey a chance to see several trialists in action, there were also plenty of familiar names in their early pre-season sides.

'Keeper Oliver Byrne lined up behind a defence including the likes of young pros Cameron Coxe - who featured for the first team against Shrewsbury on Tuesday - Connor Young and Rhys Abbruzzese.

In midfield, Jamie Veale, Marco Weymans, James Waite, Lloyd Humphries and Mark Harris have all impressed, with forward Ibrahim Meite often leading the line.

The U23s then slipped to a 2-1 defeat away to Bideford AFC, with Meite netting the Bluebirds' goal from the spot late on - [match report & highlights here].

Cardiff City U18s have also seen their pre-season preparations get underway with matches against Cheltenham Town and MK Dons.

The young Bluebirds began in style courtesy of a 5-0 victory away to their Cheltenham counterparts, with Henry Smith, Taz Mayembe, James Waite, Sam Parsons and Cavan Williams all on target.

City U18s then followed that result up with a 3-2 win over MK Dons. Smith again found the net, and was joined on the score-sheet by Laurence Wootton and Keenan Patten.
