"Be it tents to 5* accommodation - come and join us!" - Neil Warnock
Cardiff City’s 2017 summer pre-season plans are already taking shape – and there’s plenty we can confirm with you already!
Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds will kick-off their playing schedule with a first-team friendly at local club, Taff’s Well FC on Friday, 14th July (7pm). The game against the Wellmen will be in association with Cancer Research Wales and is set to attract a hefty attendance at Rhiw Dda’r!
Thereafter, the lads will take to the road for five fixtures in the space of six days in Cornwall!
Three of these games will be predominantly first-team fixtures, though the two Under 23s fixtures highlighted below are set to include representation from the first-team squad.

The first of these is to be finalised, but is set to be played away from home on Tuesday, 25th July.
The second – and final pre-season friendly is already confirmed: a home fixture with Portsmouth at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, 28th July (7pm).
The fixture with Portsmouth will, of course, evoke memories of our F.A. Cup Final clash at Wembley nine years ago. Pompey edged us by a goal to nil on that May afternoon, but this time around it will be about final preparations ahead of our respective Championship and League One campaigns commencing.
Ticket information for the Portsmouth fixture will follow via our web and social channels in due course.
