City's U18 side made it two wins from two at the Cardiff International Sports Campus after edging out a 1-0 win against the Blues, on Saturday, August 18th.

Isaak Davies’ first half strike was enough for the Bluebirds to secure all three points and maintain their 100% start to their PDL2 league season.

The Bluebirds began the brightest of the two sides. Forward Isaak Davies chalked up the first opportunity of the game for Craig Bellamy’s men. Davies went on a delightful run, beating two players with devastating ease, but the youngster fired wide of the mark.

The dangerous Davies was not to be denied though, and he was rewarded for his tenacious display seven minutes before the interval. The Welsh youth international collected the ball and hammered home past the helpless Birmingham 'keeper Jeacock giving the Bluebirds a well-deserved lead going into the break.

The Bluebirds continued where they left off in the first period and nearly doubled their advantage after the break. Captain Sam Bowen controlled well before forcing a routine stop from Jeacock 25 yards out from goal shortly after the hour mark.

The Blues almost made things all square after 65 minutes through Ryan Moore, but the defender saw his shot whistle wide of the target.

Despite a sustained period of pressure from Steve Spooner’s boys in the latter stages, they failed to test George Ratcliffe again. The Welsh youth international goalkeeper secured his second consecutive clean sheet as Bellamy’s side saw out the dying moments of this close encounter.
