Warnock: The crowd will be right behind us!

Interviews

Neil Warnock spoke to the press and media at the Vale Resort ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.

The Bluebirds are in solid home form of late with three consecutive wins at Cardiff City Stadium, and the Gaffer began by giving his opinion on tomorrow’s opponents, who come to South Wales under new caretaker boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

"So many players will be wanting to prove certain things,” said the Gaffer. "There are some talented, young players there, and people like Rashford, Lingard, Martial, Mata and Pogba all have things to prove. It will be a difficult game for us in the circumstances.

"They’ve got pace and power everywhere. We’ll be trying to give them a good game, but we’ll need everyone to be at their best to get a result.

“It would be lovely to be outside the bottom three for Christmas. We’re disappointed we haven’t got a few more points, but it’s not for the lack of trying - we’ve just got to keep going.

"Anything can happen, and I think we can get a result at home against anybody. We will give it a good shot tomorrow, and the fans will be right behind us. I’m sure we will give a good account of ourselves."

As we begin the frenetic period of festive fixtures, Neil went on to speak about our upcoming matches and how he enjoys the Christmas period.

“I just try and enjoy the atmosphere at this time of year," he said. "I will enjoy going back to Palace on Boxing Day, I’ve got some good friends there and it will be a great occasion, and then we go to Leicester after that before Spurs on New Year’s Day. It’s a great number of fixtures for us and for our fans to enjoy.”

He concluded, “At home we’ve got to give it a go and get the crowd going. The boys are in good spirits, as always. We’ve come a lot further and moved a lot faster than everyone envisaged, so we’ve just got to enjoy being on this rollercoaster.”
