Neil Warnock spoke at Cardiff City Stadium following the Bluebirds’ 1-0 loss to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.
Víctor Camarasa almost sent the Bluebirds in front on the half-hour mark, when his finessed free-kick struck the crossbar. Although 10 minutes into the second period, the Foxes broke the deadlock through Demarai Gray’s back post finish, which proved to be the game’s only goal.
“It’s been a surreal week really,” began Neil following the final whistle. “I was disappointed not to get a result, but I’m quite pleased with what the players gave and the fans were also amazing in the circumstances - it was emotional.
“Training hasn’t been the same this week and I’ve never experienced anything like it – there were three or four lads in particular that were affected by the news.
"We had a word with them before the game to remind them that we’ve got to play the game, but I can’t fault the effort because they gave everything and on another day we could’ve got a result.”
