Warnock: We've really put every ounce into it

Interviews

Neil Warnock held his pre-match press conference on Friday morning, ahead of Saturday afternoon's trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage.

"They've had a poor season results-wise but they have got some really good players," Warnock began. "They beat Everton in their last home game, where they (Everton) didn't even get a look in.

"I think that they can play without maybe worrying about making mistakes, so their recent results haven't surpirised me, if I'm honest."

City are currently three points behind Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League table, with a win on Saturday potentially drawing the Bluebirds level with the Seagulls, who host Newcastle United in the late fixture.

"We've had pride in the way we've gone about it this year, and that's why I can't fault the lads, whatever happens in the next three games," he added.

"I think everybody knows that the pundits didn't give us any chance whatsoever of staying up, but we've never thrown the towel in.

"We've always come back and tried to get back, because we appreciate what our fans have been like. They've been behind us all season, and if anything they've gotten louder and louder. I think they know that we've really put every ounce into it.

"You can always point to mistakes and other things, but all I've asked is that they do their best, which is what they keep doing week in, week out.

"They've got good players all over the show, but so do we. It'll be a good game I think."

Warnock concluded with a squad injury update ahead of Saturday's big match in London.

"Joe Ralls is out for the season. He has a tear in his hamstring. He'll be back for pre-season

Harry Arter we’re still unsure about injury wise. Although, Scott Parker is his brother-in-law.

“We’ve not allowed Harry to watch training all week," the City boss joked.
