Warnock: We’ve got to regroup and do what we’ve done before

Interviews

Neil Warnock held a pre-match press conference at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, ahead of the Bluebirds' weekend meeting with AFC Bournemouth.

The Gaffer began by giving his thoughts on January's deadline day, which saw the Bluebirds add the versatile Leandro Bacuna to their ranks.

"He is a lad I've liked for a long time, since he was at Villa," said Neil. "He had three good years in the Premier League and is ready to go. He's versatile and at a Club like ours we need one or two like him and Paterson who can help out in a number of positions.

"He's a very good athlete and a good player who I'd want in the trenches alongside me. He's more than that though, and I think he'll become a fan favourite here.

"Overall, it was as good a window as we could have expected in the circumstances. We could have done with one more, but we're not going to have a gun put to our head - I wouldn't jeopardize the Club with something like that."

The Gaffer went on to preview Saturday's match with the Cherries, as he called for the Bluebirds to put in a complete performance at Cardiff City Stadium.

"It's a good challenge," he said. "[Bournemouth] have just done very, very well. Eddie [Howe] is a nice guy and I was pleased when he went back to Bournemouth.

"We need our players, especially our forwards and attacking players, to stand up and be counted now. We've got to score goals when we get chances, and at the back we've got to be professional.

"We’re in the Premier League, it’s not all about money, it’s all about trying to get a group of lads to believe in what they're doing and move mountains again.

"We keep getting knocks and blows, but we keep bouncing back. That's all I can say about my team - they're a good group of lads and they will bounce back. Whether it's good enough, who knows? But it wont be for the lack of trying."
