Biography

Sol Bamba signed for the Bluebirds on 11th October, 2016, becoming an instant hit with a match-winning debut goal against Bristol City.

The centre-half has enjoyed successful spells in the United Kingdom with Dunfermline Athletic, Hibernian, Leicester City and Leeds United, after first starting out at Paris Saint Germain.

Bamba's career has also taken him to Trabzonspor in Turkey and Serie A's Palermo, while he has earned a total of forty-four caps for Ivory Coast – his international career leading him to the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations Final and the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.

In August 2017, he put pen to paper on a new three-year contract, extending his stay at Cardiff City Stadium until 2020.
