Welsh international midfielder Will Vaulks joined the club in late June 2019, arriving on a three year contract.
After beginning his professional career with Tranmere Rovers, Vaulks moved north of the border to Falkirk. He became a mainstay in The Bairns’ midfield, making over one hundred appearances in the Scottish Championship during three seasons. Will signed for Rotherham United in 2016, but suffered relegation to League One during his first season with The Millers.
However, the twenty-five-year-old was named Player of the Season in the following campaign, as Rotherham made an immediate return to the second-tier, via a Play-Off Final win at Wembley. Vaulks’ impressive performances in the 2018-19 season, in which he scored eight goals and recorded seven assists, caught not only the eye of Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock, but also Wales manager Ryan Giggs. Will made his international debut against Trinidad and Tobago in March 2019, and featured in his first competitive outing against Slovakia a few days later.
