Defender Curtis Nelson arrived in South Wales in June 2019, following a three-year spell at Oxford United.
Curtis made his breakthrough at Plymouth Argyle, spending seven years at Home Park. The twenty-six-year-old made his first-team debut in 2010, and was capped at England Under-18 level in 2011. He was named as The Pilgrims’ Club Captain in 2013, succeeding former Cardiff skipper Darren Purse.
In total, Nelson made two hundred and thirteen League appearances for Plymouth, before moving to Oxford United in 2016. In three seasons at the Kassam Stadium, the centre-back played in just shy of one hundred League matches, two-thirds of which were as club captain. Curtis scored seven goals for The U’s, including four in the 2018-19 season. Nelson became one of Neil Warnock’s first additions of the 2019 summer window, and joins up with fellow former Oxford man Gavin Whyte at Cardiff City Stadium.
