Foundation | Still supporting Children, Young People and Families

Community

At Cardiff City FC Community Foundation, we’re continuing to support children, young people and families to achieve their full potential.

In light of the guidelines outlined by the UK Government on Monday 23rd March 2020, we’re adapting the way we work to make our delivery methods as safe and effective as possible during this period of uncertainty for us all.

Supporting our existing beneficiaries and the rest of the South Wales community is at the forefront of our work. We’re still encouraging healthier, more active lives through our projects.

Our usual physical activities will now take the form of online support, as we’ve been working to provide our beneficiaries with free resources to use and activities to take part in, in the safety of their own homes.

We’re enabling those at risk of social isolation to still take part in our tea and toast sessions virtually via video conferencing and telephone calls to keep people connected. We’re still providing improved education and employment opportunities.

Working alongside our partner primary and secondary schools, as well as with our Future Pathways project learners, we’ve adapted our approach providing free resources available for Foundation Phase, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils to continue to develop their learning.

Our Future Pathways tutors are working closely with students on the project, providing online learning to allow learners to continue their studies. We're still reducing offending and re-offending.

We're in regular contact with young people on our projects including Kicks, to help keep them safe through video conference calls. We’re supporting the veterans who take part in our employability sessions with virtual CV clinics.

We're using our communication channels to share public messaging to help keep our communities safe and support the local response provided by Cardiff City Council and other local authorities.

Over the coming days and weeks, we’ll be working hard to be able to support the children, young people and families we work with, and those in need in our communities, as we react and adapt to the changing times. We're proud that our Club changes lives.
