Nathaniel Mendez-Laing spoke after Neil Warnock’s men defeated Chris Hughton’s Brighton & Hove Albion, 2-0.
The winger stunned the AMEX Stadum with a wonderful 25-yard strike into the top corner of Mat Ryan’s goal to help City on the way to victory.
“We’ve been doing a lot of finishing drills in training,” NML began. “As soon as the ball came to me on the edge of the area, I got a shot away on my right-foot - and to see it go in made me very happy.
“It was important to get the win and everybody out there showed great character and worked hard to get the points that we needed.
“We’ve got to take each game as it comes and hopefully we can get the job done.”
Ken Choo: “A fantastic result! Thank you to the 1,771 of you in Brighton tonight and the 30,000+ who’ll be with us back in Cardiff for the Liverpool game on Sunday. We keep going!” #CityAsOne 💙 pic.twitter.com/BaVlQmmsJN— Cardiff City FC (@CardiffCityFC) April 16, 2019
