Goalscoring Craig Noone was a happy man following Cardiff City’s win over promotion rivals Crystal Palace – City having come back from an early setback and visitor pressure to seal a big three points on Boxing Day.

“It was a great win for us today against Crystal Palace, especially after having gone a goal down early on – the lads showed great character to get a goal back before the break,” he said after the game. “Then to go on and get a second half winner was fantastic and we’re all naturally delighted with the win.”

Cardiff made it two big wins from two over Christmas, first seeing off a good Leicester side on the road before today’s win against the Eagles. From here there are only three days until we host high flying Millwall as the festive fixtures keep on coming.

Of the busy schedule Craig said, “The Leicester result beforehand was a big one and we then wanted to come back here and put it right after slipping a little against Peterborough last time here. I’m glad we did that today, although it wasn't something that we talked about too much before the game this week.

“Our heads are screwed on and we’ll take things game by game as we should. As each game comes we’ll work hard to try and pick up maximum points from each, though we don’t look too far ahead of the next game, which for us is another difficult one against a good Millwall team. During a busy time of year we’ll keep our concentration and prepare properly, aiming to do our best for the fans, who once again were fantastic today.”
