The home side took the lead through a fine strike from the edge of the penalty area but City managed to level through Bell, the midfielder controlled the ball well on the right side of the area and unleashed a curling left footed drive that beat the keeper and Colchester defence.


The U’s managed to regain their lead with another shot from distance to take the lead at the break and they made it 3-1 in the second half.


Striker Hill showed a real forward’s instincts in rising highest to meet a hopeful cross, directing the ball into the bottom corner for his fourth goal of the campaign to give City hope of grabbing something from the game.


But Colchester managed to hang on for a 3-2 win in the final few minutes with City’s under-18s still looking for their first away victory of the season.
