MALKY: I WANT TO WIN EACH GAME

Club News

Malky Mackay spoke to press on Friday morning ahead of Saturday's visit of Nottingham Forest.

Forest will be looking to continue a streak of form in which they have not lost in their last ten outings, though Malky appeared confident and aware of the threat that City's opponents will pose.

“They’ve got their old manager back really," said the Gaffer, when quizzed on Forest's renaissance. "Billy (Davies) knows the club well and still knows some of the players that are there.

"It’s a real good run they’ve been on. There’s a lot of quality in their squad so I’m not that surprised that that group of players have clicked. Looking at a couple of other squads in the division, eventually quality shines through. You see that with Bolton at the moment with the size of squad they’ve got and the quality that they’ve got in it. Nottingham Forest are exactly the same. They’ll have a desire to do the best they can as they can smell the Play-Offs at the moment.

“I’m sure they’ll come here and it’ll be a tough game for us, but we’re looking forward to it and delighted that it’s another home game. Our fans will be out in force and I’m pretty sure they’ll bring a couple of thousand people as well. It’s on our own pitch, a beautiful big surface to play on and I’m delighted with the way we’ve played in the last couple.

“I want us to win every game we go into. We’ve got five to go and I want us to finish the season unbeaten, with as many wins as we can. That’s the focus of my team. I don’t care about any other team in this division – I care about my own club. I think its twenty weeks now that we’ve been top of the league and I’m demanding that my players give themselves the best chance to do that for the remaining weeks.”
