Making sure Christmas reaches every child

Following on from the success of last season, The Big Wrap is back.

The Big Wrap provides presents to disadvantaged children and young people in Wales.

Last year, thanks to the generous support of Cardiff City Football Club and its fans, over 360 children were supported. The success of the scheme was recognised at the Football Business awards where it was shortlisted for the Best CSR Scheme at the award ceremony at Stamford Bridge.

This season we want to make this bigger and better and we need you!

We are looking for fans to donate presents for children aged between 0-19 and deliver them to one of our two collection points.

1)     Cardiff City Stadium Store
2)     Cardiff City – City Store in St David’s One

The gifts will then be wrapped and distributed to children in south Wales who would not usually receive Christmas presents.

Working in partnership with local agencies, the Big Wrap is run by volunteers and relies entirely on donations from local organisations and members of the public. Presents will be given to children and young people identified by front line care professionals, including social workers, local charities and churches.

Susan Lloyd-Selby, the Big Wrap coordinator said: “We are delighted to be running the Big Wrap in partnership with Cardiff City Football Club again this year. Every present we receive will be given to a child or young person who might otherwise receive nothing or very little for Christmas.

"We would like to thank the team and its supporters in advance – with your help, we can make sure Christmas reaches even more children this year."

We will be accepting donations for two weeks culminating at one final push at our home match with West Brom on December 14th.
