GUNNAR: WE FIGHT FOR EACH OTHER

Club News

Following another tenacious and committed personal performance, Aron Gunnarsson spoke to press following City's 0-0 draw at Huddersfield.

The midfielder's work rate and passion has defined Cardiff City in recent months and Gunnar spoke of the pleasure he and his team-mates had in seeing their Championship lead extended to eleven points on Saturday evening.

"Today was a difficult game which we knew it would be as Huddersfield are fighting for their lives," said the Iceland Captain. "We did well though and have to be pleased with the extra point that has extended our lead at the top with Leicester and Hull losing. You can't win every game and this was one of those games; it was a very heavy pitch and a tough fight out there.

"We're unbeaten in our last eight away games which is fantastic. Now we go home to Cardiff City Stadium for back to back games against Bristol City and Brighton where I'm sure the pitch will be good having not been used since the Ipswich fixture back in January. Teams will come to us, sit and try and hit us on the counter - but we know that and we know how to deal with it. When you're top of the league, that's what happens.

"We fight for each other and give everything for the Club out there. I know if I lose the ball that I've got Whitts in behind me to help me out and vice-versa. This is a united team and different again from last season. I've played with some good individual players but haven't experienced anything quite like this. I'm really enjoying playing in this team and we are so determined to succeed. We will keep fighting for each other."
