DEVELOPMENT: FEBRUARY UPDATE

Club News
Cardiff City's Development Squad secured their seventh win of the season on Monday, with a 2-1 home win over League leaders Brentford. The victory moves City to within one point of the Bees in the Professional Development League 2, having played the same number of games as them. Our next fixture is away to Charlton Athletic on Monday, 18th February.

Monday's victory has been soured somewhat though, by the news that promising Academy striker Gethyn Hill has suffered a cruciate ligament injury that will keep him out of action for a number of months. Gethyn is now under the care of Vale Healthcare doctors, who will monitor his progress closely as he works towards a full recovery. We wish Gethyn the very best in 2013 and look forward to seeing him back in action.

In other news eighteen year old Ronnie Hawkins, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur, has signed a contract with Cardiff City that will keep him with us until at least the end of this season. Ronnie has shown promise in Development fixtures this season despite minor injury set-backs. He now has the opportunity to build upon the good work already done during the rest of the 2012/13 campaign.

Meanwhile, twenty-one year old striker Nat Jarvis has agreed to join Blue Square Bet Premier side Kidderminster Harriers on loan for the remainder of the season. Nat spent time at fellow Blue Square Bet Premier club Forest Green Rovers earlier in the campaign, having impressed at another side from that division, Newport County, during 2011/12.
