“It was a tough match today,” said the midfielder. “We know that teams are going to come here and want to beat us because we are top of the league. It is just how it is. Then again it is a point and we are lucky enough that the teams around us are losing.

“We have got experienced players here - players who have gone up with other teams. Heidar Helguson, Matt Connolly, Tommy Smith - there is a reason why the Gaffer brought them here. They bring consistency and experience into the team. It does help us and it keeps us on our toes. It is the matter of keeping going and working hard for each other.

“Last year we were fourth at this time of the season, now we are top. We need to kick on, get some good results and get a run going. We have still got nineteen games left, but we are not getting carried away because we know there is a long way to go. We know for a fact that there are going to be teams that are going to go on a run; we need to be on our toes and aware of that - it is not finished yet.”
