Lads return to the Vale on Wednesday for pre-season assessments

on Wednesday afternoon as the Bluebirds squad returned to their Vale of Glamorgan training base for the start of pre-season training.cardiffcityfc.co.uk spoke exclusively to Craig Noone

Medical assessment and testing with the Club’s medical staff is currently taking place, before the hard prospect of fitness drills begin in earnest this Friday.

“It’s been a nice break for us and good for us to chill out over the summer, but it’s great being back in today with the lads as the squad gears up for the Premier League,” said Nooney. “We’re ready for pre-season now.

“These first few days are pretty much about testing and assessment so that the physios and medical staff can see where we all are in terms of fitness. Friday we’re set to start our running and real fitness training, so it’ll all step up a gear then in terms of the tough work starting.

“We’re off to Switzerland later in the month for our pre-season training camp, which I’m particularly looking forward to as I hadn’t signed for the Club when the lads travelled out there last season. It’s the start of my first full season as a Cardiff City player and I can’t wait.”

The twenty-five year old midfielder recorded an impressive tally of seven goals and eight assists in 32 league appearances last season, and has been tipped to make an impact once more at the higher level in 2013/14.

“I’m feeling good and I can’t wait for this challenge ahead of us,” Craig continued. “It took a little while to sink in after we secured promotion back in April, but now the fixtures are out and the build up has begun on the TV it really feels like we’re ready and part of the Premier League. We’re really looking forward to it.”
