Birmingham City v Ipswich Town

Birmingham bounced back from their opening day defeat by beating Brighton on Saturday but they head into Tuesday night’s clash with Ipswich as slight underdogs. Lee Clark’s men are 9/5 to make home advantage count here with the visitors 6/4 to claim their second league win of the season. The draw is a 23/10 chance but with both sides only managing three goals between them, it isn’t expected to be a high-scoring affair, with over 2.5 goals priced at evens.

Top tip: Both teams not to score 10/11.

Blackpool v Brentford

Blackpool are the 23/10 outsiders to win having played three and lost three – including a cup exit – so far this season. Brentford (21/20) have made a promising enough start since promotion and the fact they scored six goals a week ago in the Capital One Cup suggests there will be more action in this contest. Bees striker Andre Gray is the 11/2 favourite to net the first goal of the game, while Ishmael Miller is the top Blackpool contender at 13/2.

Top Tip: Over 2.5 goals at evens

AFC Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest

Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth sit at the top of the early table and are made the 6/5 favourites by Sky Bet to gain another three points. Nottingham Forest, priced up at 9/4 for the win, drew at the weekend with Bolton but it was big-money signing Britt Assombalonga who made a big impact with two goals. Assombalonga has been made an 11/2 chance to open the scoring. That puts him behind Cherries striker Callum Wilson, who is the 9/2 favourite.

Top Tip: Both Callum Wilson and Britt Assombalonga to score at 11/2

Charlton Athletic v Derby County

Derby are favourites here at 13/10 with Sky Bet to pick up the three points but will need to find their shooting boots after a 0-0 draw at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. Charlton (23/10 to win) bagged all three points against Wigan late on and should be in confident mood.  This could be a very exciting contest from the start.

Top Tip:  Two first half goals at 7/2

Leeds United v Brighton and Hove Albion

Both teams are 13/8 with Sky Bet to take the three points which suggests an open encounter is in the offing – the draw is 9/4. Billy Sharp made an instant impact for the hosts with the winner at the weekend and he is 11/2 to open the scoring, while Brighton striker Chris O’Grady is also an 11/2 chance to net first. The away side have yet to pick up a point and this could be pretty cagey until both start to really find their stride.

Top Tip: Under 2.5 goals at 4/7

Norwich City v Blackburn Rovers

Norwich got up and running with a 3-0 victory over Watford at the weekend and the Canaries are 23/20 to follow up with another three points. Blackburn (12/5 to win) took all three points as well from their trip to Blackpool on Saturday. The draw is priced up at 23/10 and you can get 3/1 for the match to finish level and both teams to score.

Top Tip: Draw and both teams to score at 3/1

Rotherham United v Watford

Rotherham got the better of fellow promoted side Wolves by a single goal on Saturday and another home game sees them at 15/8 to claim victory. Watford were well beaten by Norwich and can be backed at 7/5 to win with the draw on offer with Sky Bet at 23/10. Highly-rated Watford striker Troy Deeney is the 9/2 favourite to score first and Kieran Agard is rated as the top Rotherham prospect at 6/1.

Top Tip: Troy Deeney to score first for Watford at 100/30

Sheffield Wednesday v Millwall

Sheffield Wednesday held Derby to a 0-0 draw at the weekend and they are 5/4 to get back to winning ways on Tuesday night. Millwall have made a good start and should give a good account at their price of 21/10 to notch another victory. The draw is priced up at 23/10. Getting with 7/4 for under 1.5 goals looks interesting as that has been the outcome in three of the four Championship matches involving these sides this season.

Top Tip: Under 1.5 goals at 7/4

Bolton Wanderers v Middlesbrough

Bolton were part of a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend and are 6/4 with home advantage to notch victory on Tuesday night. Boro (7/4 for the win) went down narrowly at Leeds on Saturday but still look set for a good season. The draw can be backed at 23/10, while Bolton striker Jermaine Beckford and Middlesbrough forward Kike are both priced up at 11/2 to score the first goal. There’s plenty of attacking talent on show and 4/1 is the price for both teams to net in the first half.

Top Tip: Both teams to score in the first half at 4/1

Reading v Huddersfield Town

Reading are odds-on to win on Tuesday night at 3/4 against a Huddersfield side that has already got rid of their manager and were on the wrong side of a 3-1 scoreline at Cardiff over the weekend. Mark Lillis is the man in caretaker charge of the Terriers and his side are 3/1 to pick up the three points. The draw is a 12/5 chance and evens for over 2.5 goals provides an interest.

Top Tip: Over 2.5 goals at evens

Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers

Two Sky Bet Championship games in for Fulham boss Felix Magath and two defeats as his young side settle into life following relegation. They are 6/5 for the win here while visitors Wolves can be backed at 11/5 following their narrow loss at Rotherham. The 12/5 on a share of the spoils looks tempting as both sides seek to get on track following weekend defeats.

Top Tip: Draw at 12/5
