City defender in squad for friendly with Denmark

City defender Steven Caulker has been named in Roy Hodgson's England squad for their upcoming friendly with Denmark at Wembley on Wednesday 5th March.

As preparations step up ahead of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the England manager announced a 30-man squad on Thursday, a group that will involve the City defender looking for a second senior International cap for his country.

The 21-year old defender made his senior debut against Sweden in 2012, scoring on his debut in Stockholm. He was also called-up for the Three Lions for qualification games against Moldova and Ukraine in September.

Caulker will join Scottish International goalkeeper David Marshall on duty following the Bluebirds clash with Spurs on Sunday, while Kim Bo Kyung (South Korea), Gary Medel (Chile) and Aron Gunnarsson (Iceland) have also been called-up for their respective nations.

City's Declan John and Tommy O'Sullivan have also been selected for Geraint Williams' Wales Under-21 squad.
