Sunday downtime makes way for tough Monday sessions

After a Sunday of well earned downtime following an intense physical test of match fitness in searing Austrian heat, the Bluebirds returned to the training pitches on Monday to be welcomed by much cooler conditions.

With two games and two victories against TSV 1860 Munich and Teuta Durres that saw the camp come through unscathed in temperates that reached almost 35c, the boys took to the nearby Walchsee lake on Sunday before making the very best use of the sporting and spa facilities at City’s Austrian base.

A series of Sunday storms across the continent ensured more comfortable conditions for the squad to return to the pitches on Monday. Taking to the morning session, City brought the intensity right back to the fore as they went through a series of passing and defensive drills, all followed by a test of control and finishing ability to end.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to see his squad remain as clinical as they have been throughout this Austrian tour when they take to the 2014-15 Sky Bet Championship campaign in less than three weeks time, with a next test coming in the form of Russian club FK Amkar Perm in Kossen on Tuesday.
