MATCH FACTS
  • Former Bluebird Cameron Jerome is currently top scorer for Norwich City with 13 league goals
  • Alex Revell and Scott Malone both made their City debuts last time out for the Bluebirds
  • Peter Whittingham is Cardiff City's only ever-present this season, playing every minute of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season so far
  • Cardiff City skipper David Marshall previously played for Norwich between 2007-09
  • Six points currently separate the Bluebirds from the Canaries in the league table

KEY OPPOSITION PLAYER: Cameron Jerome
Cameron has been in red-hot form since moving to East Anglia from Stoke City in the summer, netting 13 times in 22 games so far this term. The former Ninian Park star moved from the Welsh Capital in 2006 to Birmingham City where he spent five years playing. His time at Stoke also included an indifferent loan spell with Crystal Palace but his scoring form seems to have returned since agreeing a move away from the top flight. Norwich's striking options aren't limited to the former Cardiff City star, with Lewis Grabban and Gary Hooper also ready and waiting to snap up opportunities in front of goal when required.

ONE TO WATCH: Nathan Redmond
The Norwich City board made a number of changes to the squad during the summer months, but arguably their best business was keeping hold of England U21 wide midfielder Nathan Redmond. The former Birmingham City man lit up the Premier League during his only season in the top flight last term with a number of viable suitors for the tricky winger. Redmond is again being linked to a number of Club's in the first tier of English football as the January transfer window begins to heat up, but he is likely to line up against Cardiff City's defence on Saturday afternoon for the Canaries.

Last time out: Cardiff City 1-0 Fulham - Saturday 10th January 2015, Sky Bet Championship

Overall it was comfortable evening in the Welsh capital as Cardiff City defeated Colchester United 3-1 in the third round of the FA Cup. City took the lead just after the half hour mark when a Joe Ralls strike combined with two deflections and a huge slice of fortune put the home side ahead. After the break Russell Slade’s squad built on the first half lead as Kadeem Harris showed great agility and control to place a hooked volley into the bottom corner. Kenwyne Jones then added himself to the score sheet with his very first touch cushioning a header past Sam Walker in the Colchester United goal. Freddie Sears gave the hosts a nervous final twenty when he pulled one back for the visitors but Cardiff held on and ensured their name will be in the hat for the fourth round draw.

Ten-man Norwich surprised league leaders AFC Bournemouth with a stunning 2-1 victory in Alex Neil’s first game in charge. The Cherries took the lead when Matt Ritchie fired in Marc Pugh’s cross. Gary Hooper prodded in the equaliser from Nathan Redmond’s corner kick. The Canaries were forced to finish the match with ten-men after Jonny Howson was sent off but former Bluebird Cameron Jerome stepped up to curl home from 20-yards and seal all three points.

LAST COMPETITIVE MEETING

A defeat that the Bluebirds players will be certainly be looking to avenge in the coming days.
