Club News

Short away trips are a rarity for Cardiff City fans…

Did you know?!? If you were to attend every Cardiff City league away match, you will clock up an impressive 8,605 miles throughout the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship season.*

The longest away round trip will see Cardiff City Football Club travel 572 miles to face Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium, on a Tuesday evening (23rd February). Quite the night game for the travelling Bluebirds.

After failing to retain their Premier League status, Burnley, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers re-join the Championship, with fans accumulating 1256 miles worth of petrol to see Russell Slade’s side in action at these three clubs. Turf Moor will bring back some delightful memories for 1,635 Bluebirds, who saw Cardiff City clinch the 2012/13 Championship title in Lancashire.

814 miles of travel will see the Bluebirds go to recently promoted Bristol City, Preston North End and Milton Keynes Dons during the 2015/16 season, with a trip to stadium:mk on Boxing Day the first ever league meeting between the two sides.

The shortest away trip of the season, a near 89 mile round trip via the River Severn to Ashton Gate, will take place against Bristol City on Saturday, 5th March – a match Cardiff City supporters are sure to be already excited about, reigniting the Severnside rivalry.
