Striker links up with City squad ahead of Burnley clash

Cardiff City Football Club is delighted to announce the loan signing of Tony Watt, from Charlton Athletic, subject to international clearance.

The twenty-one year old striker, who famously burst on to the scene with his winning goal for Celtic against F.C. Barcelona in a 2012 UEFA Champions League fixture, joined Charlton back in January following a season with Standard Liege.

The Scotland U21 international scored against the Bluebirds in the Addicks’ 2-1 victory back in March, and registered consecutively in Charlton’s opening three 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship fixtures.

Tony’s loan spell will run until 16th January, 2016 and will allow him to feature in up to ten Sky Bet Championship fixtures for Cardiff City.

We’re sure all Bluebirds supporters will join us in welcoming Tony to Cardiff City Stadium and can do so using the hashtag - #WelcomeWatty
