FOOTBALL LEAGUE: 2016/17 DATES

Of course, there’s still plenty to play for this year with thirty-three Sky Bet Championship matches to go until the end of the season in May.

However, the Football League today confirmed the start and end dates for the 2016/17 season, along with the fixtures for another busy Christmas and New Year period.

While it’s yet to be decided what division the Bluebirds will be playing in, here are the highlights of next year’s Championship calendar:

KICK-OFF

The campaign will begin on 6th August 2016.

FESTIVE PERIOD

Next season, Sky Bet Championship fixtures will be played on Boxing Day (26/12/16), New Year’s Eve (31/12/16) and on the New Year Bank Holiday (02/01/17).

FINAL DAY

The season will come to a close with the final match-day on the weekend of 6th May 2017.
