O’KEEFE | WE WANT TO TAKE IT BACK TO CCS

Club News

As the Bluebirds prepared to get on the road to Sheffield, City midfielder Stuart O’Keefe spoke exclusively to cardiffcityfc.co.uk to look ahead to Saturday’s vital match at Hillsborough.

A City victory would take the battle for sixth place down to the final game of the 2015/16 season, and Stuart explained that the team are backing themselves to do just that on Saturday afternoon.

“The boys are confident,” began Stuart. “We’ve had a good week’s training and we’re looking forward to the match now. It’s a great game to be involved in so hopefully we can come away with a win too.

“There’s a really good feeling around the place at the moment. The lads are buzzing for it, so we want to make sure that we take that into the match tomorrow.”

The Owls are without a win in their last four Sky Bet Championship matches. However, Stuart explained that City have a tough test lying in wait for them, as they look to bring the battle back to CCS.

“Sheffield Wednesday will bring intensity to the game as well as quality,” he continued. “They’ve got some very good players and it’s on their pitch.

“We’ll be playing in front of a sell-out crowd and if we can stay in the game and be efficient, there’s no reason that we can’t get the three points we need from the match. The longer the game goes on, the better it’s going to work out for us.

“All we can do is try to take it back here in front of the home fans in the last game of the season and see what happens there. In order to do that, we just need to make sure that we are on it tomorrow, and that we get what we’ve come for.”
