CONFIRMED | MORRISON NAMED AS CITY SKIPPER

Club News

In this morning’s pre-Norwich City press conference at Cardiff City’s Vale training base, Paul Trollope has named Sean Morrison as the Bluebirds’ Club captain.

Sean has been with Cardiff City since August 2014, racking up seventy-eight League and Cup appearances in the heart of the Bluebirds’ defence, and scoring nine goals in the process.

During that time, he has worn the captain’s armband on a number of occasions, and this morning’s announcement now sees him awarded the captaincy on a permanent basis.

As he looked ahead to the Bluebirds' trip to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, Paul Trollope explained that he feels Morrison has all the qualities needed to lead City going forward.

"Sean is going to be the skipper on and off the pitch," said Paul. "He has grown in stature since coming on the scene as a young centre-half.

"He has shown really good leadership qualities both on and off the pitch, he is well respected within the group and has shown a real hunger and desire..."
