The Bluebirds head into this weekend’s fixture having already secured the Adran Premier title last week, following a 4-0 win over Swansea City.

Eliza Collie gave City a crucial lead, before Rhianne Oakley starred with a fine brace. Playmaker Molly Kehoe added a fourth, as the Bluebirds cruised to victory.

Sunday’s opponents, Wrexham, having enjoyed a positive first season back in the top-flight, following their promotion at the end of last season.

Steve Dale’s side have made an impression on their way to securing a top three place.

Their last two fixtures have resulted in wins, coming in the form of convincing 2-0 and 3-0 victories over Aberystwyth Town.

Iain Darbyshire on the touchline for Cardiff City Women

Head coach Iain Darbyshire offered his thoughts ahead of Sunday’s league season finale.

“It’s been a remarkable season for us and I’m so proud of all the players and the staff to secure back-to-back league titles. Sunday will be a great occasion for all involved and we’re really excited for it. The players thoroughly deserve to lift the title at Cardiff City Stadium.

“We will enjoy the title lift at the end of the game, but first, we have a job to do and that is to put in a good performance and hopefully, end our league season with a win. The support this season has been fantastic and we want to give back to everyone who will be attending on Sunday with a positive performance.

“We’ve had some great battles with Wrexham this season. They’ve been a great addition to the Adran Premier and we’re excited to go head-to-head again on Sunday.”

Eliza Collie in action for Cardiff City Women

Our last clash with Wrexham was our second game of Phase Two, in which the Bluebirds put in a brilliant showing.

In a terrific away performance, Darbyshire’s side claimed a 6-1 victory, with a notable hat-trick from striker Collie.

Winger Oakley also contributed with a brace, while Kehoe got herself on the scoresheet.

The other league clashes against Wrexham this season have both resulted in 3-0 wins.
