Perry Ng spoke to Cardiff City TV after a comfortable 4-0 win over Barnsley at Cardiff City Stadium.
“It was a great performance at home,” Perry began. “Barnsley are a good team, but we played them off the park. You could tell in the last 20 or 30 minutes that they were really feeling the effects of our pressing and our play.
“I’m buzzing to be on the scoresheet too. I thought it was offside, so I shocked myself quite a bit! It was good play from Ollie who set me up. The manager loves us overlapping, so I try to do that as much as I can, and it makes it easier for the wingers, but overall we are very happy with the three points.”
The Bluebirds restricted the Tykes to a limited number of chances, and the right-back says the boss and his coaching staff have to take plenty of credit.
“Brian and his staff are fantastic,” Perry continued. “Every day on the training pitch you're learning something new. You feel like you're on the same wavelength as them, he's so positive and uplifting, and he never wants to take a step back.
“At half-time today he gave us a good rollocking and said don't take your foot off the gas, keep going, and that's what we did in the second half. He's a joy to work with and hopefully it continues.”
Perry ended by looking ahead to Saturday’s game against Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.
“We owe them one from the game that we played down here,” he concluded. “They came here and robbed a few points off of us, so we want to go there and show our intensity again, and hopefully we will get all three points this weekend.”
