Brian Barry-Murphy spoke to the press after his side were cruelly beaten by Bolton Wanderers in the final minutes of the game, having dominated the contest throughout.
"It can happen." Brian began. "To be perfectly honest, we would have been very disappointed to be stood here talking about a draw, so to be speaking after a defeat is very hard on the players and all of our supporters.
"I felt in the first half we looked dangerous without quite being at our best. So, I asked the players for a lot at half time, and they pretty much put into practice everything I asked of them, in terms of getting the ball forward really quickly and efficiently, and then creating good chances in wide areas for our strikers. We created enough chances to win many games, but today we didn’t take it.
"The goal was disappointing from our perspective. We were in the ascendancy and intent on attacking right until the final moment. To come here against a team like Bolton, who we know pretty well, and to restrict them to as little as we did, means that we did our job almost perfectly - but not perfectly."
The Bluebirds created plenty of opportunities at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, forcing Bolton keeper Gavin Bazunu into several saves, but were unfortunate to come away with nothing from the match.
Brian said: "The players have a deep-rooted belief in how we want to play - it means a lot to them. But they know we have to win. I'm not naive; I know that we have to win games, and do it quickly.
"We believe that we're good enough to do it. If we keep playing the way we're playing and creating the chances we are, I'm certain we will win.
"Every single person who was here today in the dressing room wanted to play for the Club, wanted to win for the Club, and the response we got from our supporters at the end was incredible. The following we have at every single game is incredible. I've never felt more motivated to give them a team that they feel proud to follow."
